The physical therapists also provided very concrete exercises and stretches, always optimistic, and provided compassionate and yet challenging exercises and stretches. I've been treated by Dr. Rotstein, Dr. Yaffe, Dr. Jagadish, and Dr. Belcher at Barrington Orthopedics. Any and all questions were answered and appropriate treatment was provided. "Dr. Belcher has to be one of the most compassionate doctors I have ever had the privilege of dealing with. At 69 years old, I have come to find out that, like most people, I am beginning to suffer the ravages of old age. Last year, I found out just how bad. I should've known because I have shrunk more than 2" over the last 20 years. Arthritis and scoliosis can take its toll. For 40 years, I have suffered with a bad back. I had nerve damage from an injury and have dealt with sciatic pain very frequently over those 4 decades. But during the during the last year, those sciatic pains became much more frequent AND more debilitating. I got to the point that in less than one block of walking, I had to get off of my feet. I was also having an increase in numbing in the right leg, and whereas most of my sciatic pain had been more dominant in my right leg, I was starting to have the same sensations in my left leg! When I started needing a shopping cart to go back to my car, I decided it was time to do something. Dr. Belcher came on a referral from Dr. Schroeder when I was in for a knee injection. Dr. Belcher took me in quickly and reviewed my x-rays and MRI's from the year before. I had always heard the horror stories of back surgeries, injections, whatever. Dr. Belcher was very reassuring that an epidural would be the best way to start. The arthritic buildup within my spine was likely the cause of pain. She pointed out several areas where the spinal cord was being irritated by rubbing up against the arthritic buildup inside the vertebrae. An epidural could reduce the swelling and ease the pain. There was immediate relief, as she said there would be. And she did tell me that I could have "ups and downs" in pain sensations and numbness, but most likely in 3 weeks the epidural would take full affect. And she was SPOT ON! I did not know what it was like to live without sciatic pain every few days. For years, I have been afraid to take on some tasks for fear I might not be able to finish the job because I was so often side-lined because of the excruciating pain. I lived so long like that that I had lost muscle strength and stamina. Now when I take on tasks any aches I have are good aches because it is muscular aches, not nerve pain! It took a few weeks to regain the muscle strength back, but it has been fun. Dr. Belcher was correct in her diagnosis, and she told me what I could expect. And the word that fits best here is COMPASSIONATE. She understands that people want to do more, but can be limited by pain. She understands that quality of life is a very important thing! I can now do things that I have not been able to do, without pain, for more than 2 decades! Well, time to get back to work on my staircase! THANK YOU DR BELCHER!!!"

  • "During the summer of 2008, I was experiencing extreme pain in my left forearm and upper neck/back region. My pain was so extreme that it was affecting me on my job and I had been having difficulty sleeping at night for almost 3 months. I went to Barrington Orthopedic Specialists and first consulted with Dr. Rabinowitz, whom diagnosed my issue and referred me to Dr. Brooke Belcher. After X-rays and a thorough examination, Dr. Belcher recommended a series of injections in my upper spinal region that, within 3 months time, totally resolved my pain issue. I have been virtually pain-free ever since. I am so thankful to Dr. Belcher, as she has given me my quality of life back. Thank you Barrington Orthopedic Specialists, and thank God for Dr. Brooke Belcher!"

    - Alan L.

"My most current experience is with Dr. Brooke Belcher. She performed RF Neurotomy on my lower back. It has helped a lot. My pain is 80% than it was. I am able to walk 3 miles a day and wasn't able to stand for long prior to this procedure. I will have it performed again if I need to. The staff is great. Dr. Belcher is very caring and spends as much time with you as you need. I've been going to Barrington Orthopedic Specialists since 2000. I've had surgeries performed by Dr. Rabinowitz and Dr. Bernstein, both have been extremely successful. I like the physical therapy program here very much, as well for all aspects of injuries. I would not go to another orthopedic office, except this one."

    - Angela D.

"Dr. Belcher is very friendly and helpful. She explains things to you and takes her time."

    - Lonnie S.

"I have had four epidurals with Dr. Belcher and she is excellent at keeping it pain free. All four worked great. The last one was approximately 2 months after having knee replacement which was in April 2014. I have not needed another since then, so I'm guessing my knee was causing my body to be off balance. Earlier this year, I went to Dr. Belcher to discuss my lower back pain and my legs being stiff to walk. She suggested therapy and it has helped greatly. I will keep up the exercises indefinitely."

    - Regina S.

"After suffering an injury to my back doing tree trimming, I decided I need to seek professional help. Dr. Belcher was the first Physician to see me. After discussing a treatment plan, we tried to solve the issue with a series of shots to my lower back. After two months, this treatment was not helping and Dr. Belcher suggested I see a surgeon for my issue. Dr. Rabinowitz was the first surgeon I contacted. Dr. Rabinowitz suggested surgery, but that I should get a second opinion. After seeing a different surgeon, I decided to have Dr. Rabinowitz do the procedure because he chose to do the minimum work needed to repair my back. Dr. Rabinowitz answered all my wife's questions and all of mine. He is to the point and is excellent at what he does. After my physical therapy, I have been back to work for 4 months without issue. I drive a truck for a living and that alone is hard on my back. My back seems stronger than ever and I have Barrington Orthopedic Specialists to thank. I also thank Dr. Rabiowitz, Dr. Belcher, and their support staff for the care they all provided. I will always refer people to Barrington Orthopedic Specialists and I would also return to them with any further issues with my well being."

    - Anthony P.

"I went to see Dr. Belcher when I experienced severe pain in the back of my neck. After taking an MRI, Dr. Belcher diagnosed my problem and I had therapy for 2 months at the Barrington Orthopedic Specialists facility in Buffalo Grove. I have fully recovered from having these neck pains and continue to do the exercises to help prevent any other occurrence of the problem. This all happened in December 2012, and I have never had another pain attack after I completed my therapy all because Dr. Belcher was able to help me understand what the problem was and how to prevent any pain attacks."

    - Marlene R.

"I have been treated by both Dr. Bernstein and Dr. Belcher over the past several years and I will say without reservation, that the care and concern they have extended to me has been superb. I could not ask for anything more in a doctor-patient relationship. I might also add that the nursing, PAs, physical therapy, and clerical staff at BOS have also been extremely professional and gracious in their treatment of me as a patient."

    - Howard W.

"I was always very active, but over the last 10 years, I could tell my hips were really starting to bother me. I did the physical therapy, injections, exercises, stretching, massage, acupuncture and all helped to some degree. But over the last two years, my pain increased and my range of motion decreased. My 90-year-old mother had more mobility than I did. So, after meeting with Dr. Cirrincione, I decided it was time. In March 2013, I went in for my surgery. I never in my wildest dreams thought my outcome would be this good. Within two weeks, off I went to physical therapy.  I loved all my therapists. Beata really help me move again and helped me walk without that limp I had become so accustomed to. The next 3 to 6 months, I continued getting stronger. I had planned to wait a year between the surgeries, but by the end of the summer, I was feeling discouraged. My new hip was the best, but that old hip was getting worse and making me more miserable. That was it. I called again and said, "Let's do the other one."  Now, we are mid December and I am 8 weeks post surgery. The staff at Barrington Orthopedic Specialists is great.  Always helpful, and friendly no matter which area of the practice I went to. Dr. Cirrincione was wonderful. I am so indebted to all those that made my surgery and recovery more like a walk in the park, a walk without pain. I just want all the physicians and staff to know how great I feel. Thank you for changing my life."

    -Caroline S.

"Dr. Belcher is caring, takes her time with you, and has been a God send to me. I give her a hug every time I see her. She has controlled my pain, so I can live normally again."

    - Richard J.

"In May 2004, I saw Dr. Jereb for a work-related rotator cuff injury. After meeting, talking, and listening to how Dr. Jereb was going to handle this operation, my answer was clear. He was the one. August of 2004, I had the operation and physical therapy, which were both successful. Today, almost 10 years later, I have no pain, problems and feel I owe this to the wonderful expertise Dr. Jereb and his staff gave me. In May 2011, I needed advice for my hip. I went to Dr. Jereb who recommended that I see Dr. Belcher and then Dr. Nourbash. I saw both Dr. Belcher and Dr. Nourbash, who told me I needed hip replacement surgery. So in July 2011, I had left hip replacement. I had success again and there was no more pain. I could not believe that the day after the surgery, I had a zero pain level and I felt great. Today, I walk at least one mile a day, sometimes more, and can move around like I never could. Dr. Nourbash and his staff are the best in my book and I would have no one else do any surgery on my hip or knees but Dr. Nourbash. Dr. Belcher helped me in 2012 and 2013 with problems with my head, neck, and spine. With physical therapy and keeping up with my exercises each day, I do not have any problems with these areas. Again, another doctor in Barrington Orthopedics, that helped me and saved me from pain and suffering. I can only give the physical therapists that I worked with, the same good report. These three doctors saved me from three conditions that I had and do not have problems with today. Thank you Barrington Orthopedics for these three wonderful doctors."

    - Marlene R.

"Dr. Belcher is the only doctor I have ever had that takes time with her patients. No matter what your question is, she will take the time to answer everything. I think she is the most amazing doctor there is. I have referred her to several people. There is not a doctor I know as good as Dr. Belcher. Thank you Dr. Belcher for everything and being there for me. I was in so much pain when I came to her. I'm only 66 and I thought I would never be out of pain. I was on a cane for 8 months due to Dr. Belcher’s great help. I no longer use a cane and I was able to take my dream trip to Italy September 2013. She is the best!!"
