Coronavirus Announcement & Updates

Updated March 26, 2020

Barrington Orthopedic Specialists (BOS), Immediate Orthopedic Care (IOC), along with the Schaumburg Surgery Center (SSC), are taking all necessary steps to protect our patients and staff from the spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19).  With that in mind, we have adjusted our office hours for both physician office and rehab visits.

We have made the decision to temporarily close our Immediate Orthopedic Care (IOC) clinic in the evenings, as well as on Saturdays.   Since we will still be seeing patients during the weekdays, we should be able to accommodate your orthopedic needs during this time.   We are doing this to minimize the risk for you, our patient, as well as our physicians and staff.

During this time, we have limited our patient appointments to conditions that are more of an acute and/or urgent nature.   If you are unsure if you should be seen, please call our office at (847)285.4200 and we will be able to help make that determination.    We will use similar criteria for any surgical procedures that may be needed.

The practice has started to offer Tele-health visits with your physician.  This practice started this week and may be a good way to make sure our patients are cared for in a timely fashion (only existing patients).   These visits are performed using a computer that is equipped with video capabilities.  Our staff will reach out to you if your visit would qualify for a Tele-health visit.

We will continue our rigorous cleaning and screen process.   As previously announced, and if you are still coming to the office for your essential appointment (both physician and rehab), we are asking patients to come to the appointment alone or if they need assistance, to limit this to a single person.  Only the patient will be taken back to the exam room with an exception of one person to assist the patient if medically necessary.

If you still have an in-person appointment and start to experience any symptoms such as fever, cough, and difficulty breathing, you are asked to call us at 847-285-4200 to reschedule your appointment.

These unprecedented times require extraordinary actions to help keep patients and staff safe, and help reduce the spread of the virus.  We ask for your patience and to join us in the recommended practices to limit risks.

It is so extremely important to us, and our community, that we all do our part. We will continue to keep you informed. Please reach out to us with any questions or concerns. Our patients and community health are our top priority.
