Dr. Brett Schiffman is a board-certified, fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon who specializes in conditions of the hand, wrist, elbow, and shoulder. Dr. Schiffman has advanced training in hand and microsurgery with expertise in upper extremity trauma and complex fractures, work and sports-related injuries, degenerative and arthritic conditions, as well as nerve and vascular conditions. He has published on topics including complex elbow and forearm trauma, elbow instability, elbow MRI utilization, bone healing, and vitamin D metabolism. He joined Barrington Orthopedic Specialists in September 2021. He enjoys taking the time to get to know his patients and ensuring that they are informed about their condition in order to decide what treatment is best for them. He focuses on restoring his patients to their optimal functional abilities.
When he’s not seeing patients, Dr. Schiffman enjoys spending time with his family, cooking, traveling, snowboarding, and mountain biking. Dr. Schiffman was a collegiate football player.
Dr. Schiffman is the team physician for Palatine High School.
