Patient Reviews
  • “I have been coming to see Dr. Mahoney for two years now and she is always pleasent and as quick as she can be. Listens to my concerns and responds.”

    – Debra H.

“Easy to talk to. Provides good explanation of what's next in my treatment.”

    – Jill N.

“Dr. Mahoney performed foot surgery on me and it was very successful. No more foot pain and absolutely no pain after surgery. She is one of the most pleasant people I have ever met. She explained every detail of what the problem was and what would be involved. Great on the follow up visits after surgery also. Can't say enough good things about her. Will certainly recommend people to her.”

    – Joe C.

"The foot doctor I saw for years retired, and I was worried I would never find another doctor as good. How lucky for me to find Dr. Mahoney who is professional, knowledgeable, caring, and answers every question with an explanation you can understand. But it is not just Dr. Mahoney who helped me at Barrington Orthopedic Specialists. Dr. Mahoney referred me to Paul Carr, a physical therapist at Barrington Orthopedic Specialists, and he has made all the difference in helping my foot injury heal. Paul is also very professional, knowledgeable, and personable. He also always explained things so I understood what was happening and what was causing issues. He was so approachable that I felt I could ask him about what seemed to be an unrelated discomfort, and he would clarify why that discomfort was occurring. Paul had several very practical suggestions for incorporating the exercises he suggested into the day, he had little tricks for applying ice, and he gave me suggestions as to what to do before I sought help again. He’s got a ton of tips to help his patients. At the end of my therapy, I was feeling afraid to stop because Paul and the therapy had been so helpful. Paul reassured me I could call or email and he would be happy to help me if anything would recur. Even though the therapy was ending, he made it clear that he would still be available to me. That was just what I needed to give me confidence to be on my own without therapy. I so appreciate the help that Paul gave me to help me resume my walking lifestyle, and I am very appreciative to know that if I need help again, he will be there."

    - Linda C.

  • “Earlier in the year, I had seen another Podiatrist with the problems with my foot and ankle. They basically dismissed it. When the pain got so bad that I couldn't walk for any time or distance, I decided to get a second opinion. From the 1st time I came into the office, Dr Mahoney listened to what I was saying. She seemed to understand immediately what the problem might be. Once the MRI came back, I was very impressed that Dr. Mahoney did not push surgery. She was willing to try more conservative measures first - although she did explain that if I wanted to get back to an active lifestyle, I probably would need surgery at some point. When I decided on surgery, she was very attentive to my concerns with problems that I have with painkillers - so ordered Tramadol. She also listened to my concerns about nausea vomiting after surgery.”

    – Wendy G.

“Dr. Mahoney is so wonderful. She is so knowledgeable and also has a great "bedside" manner. She was the perfect doctor to see for my 6 year old daughter.”

    – Rachel A.

"Been seeing Dr. Mahoney off and on for about 10+ years. She is very knowledgeable and always listens carefully to me."

    – Patricia G.

"Dr. Mahoney does a great job and keeps my feet healthy."

    – Alan P.

"Dr. Mahoney has treated my husband but this was my first visit with her. She is great. I have several problems with my feet, one of which may require some surgery. Dr. Mahoney made several helpful suggestions that can ease my problems and put surgery off indefinitely. So happy to find a doctor that is not "knife happy.”"

    - Ellen S.

"I had a bunion on my right foot and needed surgery for over five years. The first time I tried scheduling surgery, I found out I had cancer and was unable to follow through.  I scheduled it two more times after that and for different reasons I had to cancel again. This past June the timing was finally right and Dr. Mahoney and her team helped me get through the next couple of months.  It's been four months since the surgery and I'm already walking five miles a day, three days a week. I contribute this to Dr. Mahoney and my physical therapist, Paul.  Thank you all so much for all you've done. You have my deepest appreciation."

    - Kimberley B.

"Best doctor I have ever been to. Very concerned, answers all questions, and works with options keeping her patients in mind. A very special person, as well as a knowledgeable doctor. I Have been referring her to many people I know."
