Dr. Wajeeh Bakhsh is a board-eligible, fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon that specializes in treating orthopedic conditions and injuries of the spine. He is committed to exploring all methods of treatment, using surgery as a final resort. Dr. Bakhsh has mastered many techniques to help patients get back to work and play safer and faster, including minimally invasive, robotic, and endoscopic approaches. Dr. Bakhsh also believes in motion-sparing surgery, such as disc replacement and laminoplasty, and uses muscle-sparing surgical techniques.
Dr. Bakhsh has published many peer-reviewed articles discussing cutting-edge technologies in spine surgery, including the management of complex cervical and lumbar conditions. He reviews for multiple leading scientific journals, including the Global Spine Journal and the Journal of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. He continues to conduct research to stay at the forefront of spine surgery and find newer, safer ways to treat patients.
In August 2021, Dr. Bakhsh joined Barrington Orthopedic Specialists. He leads a clinical team that is focused on getting patients feeling better, relieving pain, and restoring function. Every patient has their own story, and Dr. Bakhsh and his team believe in tailoring treatment to each individual to get the best results. Whether the target is to return to sports or just back to life as normal, Dr. Bakhsh and his team are dedicated to helping patients exceed their goals.
Through working with a group of multiple orthopedic surgeons, physical therapists, and non-operative specialists, Dr. Bakhsh ensures that every patient benefits from a collaborative, multi-faceted approach. When not seeing patients, Dr. Bakhsh enjoys spending time with his family, cooking, following Chicago sports, and dabbling as a hobbyist car mechanic.
