"Barrington Orthopedics Specialists came to my rescue and I am forever grateful! Unfortunately, I broke my right ankle (fibula) on Sunday, April 12, 2015, after a fall off a stair in my garage. After an ER visit to St. Alexius Hospital, I decided to schedule a visit to Barrington Orthopedics Specialists, based on recommendations of friends and proximity to my home, for what would be multiple visits for casts and physical therapy. I sure am glad I did! I cannot say enough good things about Dr. O'Hara and his superb staff. He performed reconstructive surgery with a plate and screws on Wednesday, April 15, 2015, and I am so grateful that he has restored full range of motion in my right ankle. After hearing other people's horror stories about ankle surgery, I am so thankful my surgery was "textbook" and I am now able to walk without pain! Dr. O'Hara is very professional and efficient, yet makes you comfortable to ask questions. Even during the casting process, I was extremely nervous and his surgical assistant, Dr. Adam DeCoste, eased my fears and got me through with laughter and a smile. I continued with six weeks of physical therapy twice a week for rehabilitation with Michael Cole. Excellent physical therapist. All of the staff at Barrington Orthopedics made me feel like a person, rather than a number. Let's face it, I really hope to not need them in the future, but if I do, I know who and where to call! Thanks so much for your fine patient care. I would definitely recommend Barrington Orthopedics (and have) to my friends and family."

     – Tammy D.

  • "Like most people, I wasn't thrilled to need your services. I fell and broke my leg in two places, requiring surgery and physical therapy. That said, every aspect of my experience with your organization was fantastic. 1.  From my first call, I was scheduled with the best doctor for my injury the very next day. 2.  Dr. O'Hara was kind and patient, answering all my questions and my husband's. Surgery was scheduled quickly and performed on-time (at least as on-time as hospitals allow).   3.  My follow-up appointments were equally as timely, as efficient, and as thorough. 4.  When I went in for a weekend "clinic", I received the same high level of care, knowledge, and empathy. 5.  The physical therapy pushed my limits every visit and made sure I was progressing carefully.  Again, I hope to never need your services again but, if the need arises, I have no hesitation in saying that I'll contact you. And I've already recommended you several times."

    – Theresa C.

"Very personable and pleasant. Took the time to give an explanation with options. Didn't keep you waiting forever, very punctual"

    – Ed B.

"Dr. O'Hara did a great job repairing my syndesmosis diastasis via tightrope fixation. He was very supportive and helpful in getting me back to riding my horses and my very active lifestyle as quickly as possible. My ankle is healing fabulously and I am so very grateful to him. He is an excellent surgeon."

    – Sandra D.

"It was an all around great experience. Starting with the highly efficient and very friendly administration. From staff to nurses, to medical technicians, and last but not least my doctor. This facility runs so smooth, that no matter when my appointment is my wait times are so minimal, not even worth mentioning. I had an issue I was treated for by another medical group for weeks with no results. After my first visit with Barrington Orthopedic Specialists, I was finally on the right track with the correct treatment. I can only highly recommend them!"

  • "I had a lingering foot issue that just wouldn't go away for over one year. I couldn't work out, and was even modifying my gait just walking around, and this was causing all sorts of additional pain in my knee and hip. Dr. O'Hara really understood my issues and actually solved my problem with a cortisone injection and a special foot pad. Boy, that really worked! I am walking normally and even exercising again! Yeah! He is a great doctor, and I am so glad he was available to help me. The office at Bartlett is really clean, and everyone who works there is really nice. Great X-ray machines and X-ray technicians at this location. Also got an MRI at the Schaumburg location, and the people working there were really nice as well. Thank you, Barrington Orthopedic Specialists for actually fixing my problem!"

    – Rose

"He is a wonderful doctor. Dr. O'Hara took the time to explain the surgery. What was going to be done before and then after surgery. You couldn't ask for a better doctor. Thank you."

    – Rosemary T.

"I had a great deal of pain in my right heel.  Dr. O'Hara diagnosed and treated with a cortisone shot.  After a few weeks, I went back and Dr. O'Hara did another shot.  I am happy to say I am pain free now."

    - John P.

"Dr. O'Hara took wonderful care of me after having an ingrown toenail.  I also had toenail fungus, and Dr. O'Hara provided a topical medication. Upon further detailed instructions, it would have improved the symptoms sooner, if I did intense filing of the nails every night prior to application of the medicine.  The doctor gave me these instructions after one month of only removal and reapplication of the topical medicine.  The doctor eventually gave me an option to take a prescription. Since this medication had an effect on the liver, he had me get a blood test to make sure my liver was healthy. One month later, he had to repeat the blood test prior to approving another 30-day supply. By the following month, I was healed and discharged from the doctor's care.  Overall, it was a good experience. Dr. O'Hara was pleasant and genuinely concerned about my complaints."

"First visit with O'Hara, but fifth doctoer I've seen at Barrington Orthopedic Specialists. ALL excellent for professionalism, treatment, patient relations, and concern. I got an ankle injection, which removed a long time problem. We'll see how long it lasts. The knee injections have lasted from 3 weeks to 18 months."

    - Gordon
