Now Offering Mako 4 — The Latest Generation in Robotic-Arm Assisted Knee Replacement
Dr. Jason Rotstein now performs partial and total knee replacement surgery using the Mako 4 SmartRobotics™ system — Stryker's fourth-generation robotic platform at Schaumburg Surgery Center (SSC).
Mako 4 is a single system that offers more applications and innovation, providing a premium surgical experience across Mako Total Knee and Mako Partial Knee procedures.
How Mako 4 Works:
- Scan. A CT scan is taken so your surgeon can understand your unique anatomy in detail.
- Plan. Your CT scan is used to create a 3D model of your knee, allowing your surgeon to build a personalized surgical plan tailored to your anatomy.
- Mako Can. In the operating room, your surgeon guides Mako's robotic arm within pre-defined boundaries using AccuStop™ technology to precisely prepare the bone for your implant.
Why Mako 4?
- Over 1 million Mako Total Knee procedures have been performed globally
- Mako Partial Knee has demonstrated 98% survivorship at a 10-year follow-up
- The Mako 4 system integrates Stryker's fourth-generation Q Guidance System, built on over 20 years of guidance technology experience
- Features the new FP8000 camera with a wide field of view for enhanced visibility during surgery
- Space-efficient design for ease of setup and streamlined OR workflow

- Posted OnNovember 13, 2025Review Author KaylaDr. Rotstein seems very knowledgeable and understanding. There have been many times in my life where I’ve heard a doctor say, “you’re too young for x to be happening to you”, and then dismiss me (especially in regard to my joint/muscle pain caused by my extensive athletic injury history and severe hyper-mobility). Despite also saying this, Dr. Rotstein is one of the few who seems to be taking my pain seriously. I’m so glad that he didn’t dismiss my pain due to my age. He immediately ordered proper imaging to be done. Only time and those images will tell what our next steps will be. I look forward to working with him to help treat my ongoing pain.
